Project: Dredging of a dammed up part of a river in the Alps

The cutter “Eems” was transported (mainly by train this time) into the mountains, and put to work in a dammed up part of a river (500 meters above sea level !). Because of the dam, the river area had been landing up with sand and gravel which had to be removed to secure the water transport capacities of the river.
