Cutter Suction Dredgers or Auger Suction Dredgers

The continuous development of the product range of small Cutter Suction Dredgers has resulted in the range of small, light, powerful and versatile CSDs that is currently available. The advantage of the Suction Dredger is that this machine enables dredging to be carried out at a relatively low cost. However, the prerequisite for this is that a relatively large dump area for the storage and dewatering of the pumped mixture has to be available in the vicinity of the project site, plus there has to be a free track which is suitable for a pipeline. The small Cutter Suction Dredgers are sometimes fitted with an auger instead of the cutter head for use in environmental dredging projects.
